ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO GANGTOK
Upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), Bagdogra Airport (IXB), or Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction), our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to Gangtok. Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, offers something for everyone, from tranquillity to adventure, with its monasteries, mystic rituals, and festivals. Situated at an elevation of 1670 meters (5480 feet), it is one of the most visited destinations in India. This picturesque town is known for its variety of Rhododendrons, Orchids, and butterflies. The journey to Gangtok covers nearly 135 kilometres and takes approximately 4 ½ to 5 hours. After checking into our hotel in Gangtok (Hotel Renam), the evening is free for you to explore MG Marg Road (Mall) or the local shopping center. EXCURSION TO TSOMGO LAKE & BABA MANDIR (FULL DAY)
After enjoying a morning breakfast at the hotel, embark on a full-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (New), located nearly 40 kilometers from Gangtok. Tsomgo Lake, an oval-shaped body of water, is about 50 feet deep and is often blanketed in snow for much of the year. The lake is a haven for Brahmini ducks and various migratory birds. Close by, you'll find the sacred Baba Mandir, a revered site for many visitors. For those interested, an optional visit to Nathu La Pass, near the Republic of China border, is just 20 kilometres away. After returning to Gangtok, the evening is yours to explore MG Marg Road (Mall) or the local shopping center. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at our hotel at Gangtok (Hotel Renam). GANGTOK LOCAL SIGHT SEEING (HALF DAY) & TRANSFER TO DARJEELING
Start your day with a half-day local sightseeing tour in Gangtok, visiting notable attractions such as the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, the Research Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Enchey Monastery, White Hall, and the Flower Show. Don’t miss the chance to explore one of the finest monasteries where His Holiness the Dalai Lama stayed for a while, along with various viewpoints offering stunning vistas. Afterward, transfer to Darjeeling, a journey of approximately 135 kilometers that takes 3 to 3 ½ hours. Situated at an elevation of 2,123 meters (7,001 feet), Darjeeling is renowned for its breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens, and spectacular views of Mount Everest. Known as the "Queen of the Hills," Darjeeling is also famous for the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI). DARJEELING LOCAL SIGHT SEEING (HALF DAY)
Begin your day in Darjeeling with an early morning drive at around 3:45 AM to Tiger Hill, situated at 8,000 feet (2,440 meters). As you pass through ancient forests of oak and magnolia, you'll reach the hilltop to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Kanchenjunga Peak, weather permitting. On your way back, stop to visit the Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial, and Batasia Loop. Return to your hotel in Darjeeling for breakfast and take a brief rest. Afterward, embark on a half-day city tour that includes visits to the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), the Ropeway, Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (closed on Sundays), a Tea Estate, the Natural History Museum (closed on Sundays), and the Peace Pagoda. TRANSFER TO AIRPORT / RAILWAY STATION
After enjoying a hearty breakfast in the morning, you'll begin your transfer from Darjeeling to Siliguri, New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), Bagdogra Airport (IXB), or Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand. The journey covers approximately 105 kilometers and takes around 3 ½ to 4 hours by road. Upon arrival, you'll proceed with your onward journey. Safe travels!
